2020 Project 366

Project 366 – Weeks 28 and 29

I think fortnightly works for me to write anything up! We have had a busy couple of weeks, and I’ve taken so many photos and videos but they primarily have A’s face in. I share those videos on Instagram stories so feel free to follow on there!

187. The previous owners planned the garden really well, we have colour coming up one after the other which is really exciting to see. Today I found a hydrangea bush I didn’t realize we had down the side of the house.

188. My go to when A is really fighting naps is to wear her. I finally managed to use my smaller woven wrap and put her in a kangaroo carry. Only one wrap of fabric on her and it’s only crossed on my shoulders rather than around my waist.

189. We have this line of Leyland Cyprus (I think I might be wrong!) which line the back of our house, they are huge about 30ft high and haven’t been looked after. They over hang into our neighbors yard and are pushing the fence panels out. Plus they are dying further up and we have a big hole coming down low. So…..we got them taken out! We’ve gained 10ft in width, and lost our privacy with the neighbors and vice versa but they have also gained one side of their yard which was only ever in shade and damp! So it’s a win for us all. Next we plan to replace with smaller and with a more manageable height!

190. A received a thank you book through the mail today after passing over all her clothes she’s grown out of to a new to us friend, who we met because she was our birth photographer…if you fancy seeing some of the amazing photos from our birth click here.

191. Max cat is clearly really comfortable with having a baby now, he tried so very hard to get on my lap mid nursing session!

192. We have a Facebook group called Buy Nothing over here which is done by area, and you give away your things for free! I got these amazing big building blocks for A. I can’t wait for her to be big enough to use her imagination and build herself, in the meantime I had fun!

193. I’m planning to go camping with some girlfriends soon, but with our social distancing rules in place here they aren’t able to help me set up! So I got this Big Agnes shelter in the sale, I can put it up easily and then place A in it whilst I set up the tent. It’s really nice to add some shade in our garden too, so I think this will be used a lot in the beautiful weather I hope we have!

194. Sometimes ice cream is the answer, and sometimes you need it delivered! I even added gummy bears…shh

195. A becomes really distracted with the mat I have on our wood floor so I placed a sheet over it to see if it made any difference….the only difference was she sucked it!

196. Max cat just relaxing on his cat tree.

197. I’m slowly arranging A’s play area as she’s very close to pushing herself around on her tummy on the wood floor, and she is rolling all over the place now! I love this little kitchen I got on Facebook marketplace.

198. The perks of isolating and nothing being open means I get to use my creativity on A! I’ve stuck some zip lock bags to the floor and filled them with some different things. Her current favourite is a double bagged ziplock with a blob of white and red paint in it! She’s slowing managing to mix the two together. Of course she doesn’t realize, but I do!

199. We’ve moved the cot down to our room, taken a side off and pushed it against the bed. I’ll write a post about our nursing journey next week, but we are still every 1.5 hours and overnight 2-3 times. She has a light suck and gets tired easily so it’s little and often. She’s been in bed with us to make it easier on me, but now the weather has turned hot it just too warm. With this set up, I can still have her close, but also slightly further away. Marie seems to think this is her bed now!

200. Hot hot hot! Stripped the baby off, puppy pee pad under her to save the floor and a baking tray with water! Instant cooling and so much fun. Shame hubby was busy but I kept calling up to him so he could see how much she loved this.

  1. What lovely photos and nice to catch up with you.
Those building blocks are fantastic and I am sure she’ll get years of use from them.
The ziplock bags on the floor is a genius idea. x

  2. Oh Little A – congratulations, I’ve missed this news. Those blocks look amazing, I’m sure she will love them. I got so many bargains from local groups over here. Those trees are such a nightmare aren’t they, I bet the change without them is amazing #366

  3. That hydrangea bush is so pretty. A looks very cosy in the kangaroo wrap. Thomas used to have a lot of in-wrap naps when he was smaller. That Buy Nothing Facebook group sounds like a great idea. I love those giant building blocks. The set-up with the cot sounds like a good plan especially with the warmer weather. Looks like A was having a lot of fun with the water in the baking tray – what a great idea. #project366

  5. love the idea of the puppy pee pad. Would never have thought to do that with paint., if you keep the result it might be worth a fortune one day…..
That shade tent in the garden looks ideal.
Don,t blame you for cutting the trees down, bet the neighbours are glad to have the sun back in their garden.
