This was a busy busy 2 weeks…and every week after that! Baby finally arrived and our world was turned upside down.
33. I didn’t take any photos this day except this one of my bullet journal. I’m trying to find a system that works for me, gives me a creative outlet and also uses up some of my crazy craft amounts.
34. Walk walk walk this baby out! We had until the 5th February for baby to make an arrival before I am “too” over due and need to transfer to hospital midwifery care for an induction. Our local lake is flooded due to all the rain we had.
35. Midwife appointment and once last ditch attempt for this baby to come. Sweep, and another round of lemon verbena smoothie. We are all booked in for a 41 week scan at the hospital on the 5th Feb followed by a meet the midwife team there. They already confirmed they will let me go overdue with them until the 8th Feb before medically inducing. I had Marie cat snuggles whilst i tried to not be too upset about the likely change to my birth plan.
36. Happy Birthday to me….oh and Happy Birth Day to our little one!! Very speedy labor and delivery, all safe and sound born at home. What a great birthday present for me. You can read our birth story here. The most funny part was cancelling the scan at the hospital – Reason for cancellation = baby born. Oh and that birthtub I really wanted to use – it was ready to use after she was born. That’s how quickly things moved along! Everyone made it thankfully, our doula, midwife, student midwife and birth assistant. Even our photographer – no one expected me to be this late due to having a big sized baby and our photographer was actually booked for another shoot in the afternoon so this worked out great for us!

39. After a trip to lactation consultant after having little ones tongue tie clipped 2 days ago, we ended back at the Paediatrician to check for jaundice. You can read about that exciting trip here. She doesn’t have jaundice and it’ll take me a little while to forgive myself for putting her through the test.
40. Hubster, Baby Girl, and Max Cat. I love where everyone is looking. Cat to baby, baby to Hubster and Hubster to me ❤️
41. Me and Baby Girl – ok so I didn’t technically take this one, but Hubster’s phone is significantly better than mine! Our first trip out that wasn’t for a medical appointment.
42. Paediatrician check up
43. Baby butt in one of her cloth diaper covers. Really pleased that cloth diapering works for us. Read about the diaper service we are using here.
44. Newborn photo shoot today! With out lovely birth photographer.
45. Valentines Day was ignored in this house today, but I did go out for a little walk in the neighborhood. Hubster is already back at work so this was proof that we made it out of bed!
46. Snuggles on the bed. Loving the baby on chest snuggles. The cats appear to have forgiven me for bringing some other being into their house. Hubster was headed to the airport to collect my mum for her 2 week visit.
